Love, Hate, and Cancer

Those who are venerated by the multiracialist establishment, such as homosexual Black choreographer Alvin Ailey, left, and lesbian Jewish writer Susan Sontag, right, are mainly distinguished by their decadence and/or visceral hate of all things White, healthy, and beautiful. Yesterday I was listening to a broadcast of National Public Radio, a network which examines the news a little more in depth and which caters to a little more critical audience than the big commercial radio networks. ABC, CBS, and their ilk just squeeze a three-minute collection of predigested PC sound bites between Limbaugh's neocon rah-rah, rap music, and the hard-sell commercials for wasteful, carcinogenic, and useless products. NPR, on the other hand, goes on for hours every afternoon without a single "gangsta" tune or beer ad. But NPR is Jewish propaganda just the same; it's just aimed at an audience a few IQ points above the dittoheads and gangbangers.

Yesterday, the NPR announcers were almost in tears for two stories in a row. In one, we were regaled for a good ten minutes about the great contributions to American culture of an obscure member the overtly Black-oriented Alvin Ailey dance troupe, founded by that favorite of the New York "in crowd," the homosexual Black Alvin Ailey, who died of AIDS in 1989. It was clear that Alvin Ailey and his "gay" African dancers were artists so great that they could only be spoken of in the most hushed and reverent tones.

I wonder how long it's been since NPR devoted a major segment to a retiring dancer -- without there being a multiracialist or Jewish angle of one kind or another. Forever, probably.

As revealing as that piece was, it was the other news item that really interested me. It was even more tearful and even more reverent than the first. It was NPR's obituary of Jewish writer and "intellectual" Susan Sontag, though NPR listeners new to Sontag would never have guessed she was a Jew from the story. By NPR's lights, she was simply a great American woman. The NPR announcer spoke of her in the same quiet, breathy, almost whispering voice that Christian Zionists use when they refer to "the Holy Land" or "Je-RU-sal-em."

Those of us who've been politically aware for a few decades will remember Susan Sontag. Unlike some of her more circumspect co-ethnics, Sontag openly expressed in words what for most Jews is acknowledged only privately or silently -- or only with actions that reveal the soul within.

Sontag said:

"The white race is the cancer of human history; it is the white race and it alone -- its ideologies and inventions -- which eradicates autonomous civilizations wherever it spreads, which has upset the ecological balance of the planet, which now threatens the very existence of life itself."

Of America, Sontag said,

"America was founded on a genocide, on the unquestioned assumption of the right of white Europeans to exterminate a resident, technologically backward, colored population in order to take over the continent."

I'm inclined to think that there's some value in frank expression of one's views like that shown in Sontag's "cancer" remark, though the momentary blunt honesty doesn't cancel out the rest of Susan Sontag's life. She wrought great harm on thousands of young White people who absorbed her anti-Western, anti-White ideas while at school or through the intense promotion of her -- as "deep" and "intellectual" -- by the academic and cultural establishments.

Sontag wasn't well-loved by right-wing Zionists, for she believed that genocidal Israeli policies were bad for Jews in the long run. Former New York City mayor and former Sontag fan Ed Koch said he stopped reading her and that she would "occupy the Ninth Circle of Hell for her outrageous assaults on Israel." But that's just a family squabble. Shortly before Koch started shunning her, she received the Jerusalem Prize from that city's mayor, Ehud Olmert.

In none of the encomiums on Sontag that I have seen is it mentioned that she is an ethnic Jew, though the fact is well known among Jews. She was born Susan Rosenblatt, daughter of a fur merchant, but her name was changed when her mother remarried.

In 1950 she married another Jew, Philip Rieff, whom she divorced after having one child. In the 1980s she began a three-decade lesbian relationship with Jewish photographer Annie Leibovitz.

Sontag's literary name was made after her work appeared in the leftist Partisan Review, whose editor, William Phillips, was a Jew despite his Anglo-sounding name. While "schmoozing" and making Jewish connections at a New York cocktail party, Phillips reportedly told her that if she wanted to appear in the Review, "All you have to do is ask." Her reply: "I'm asking." As it is with many articles in the press, where Jewish writers make it easy for racially conscious Jews to read between the lines for the unstated Jewish angle, the word "Jew" need not even be mentioned. They just know.

One academic observer notes that:

"...Her Los Angeles Times obituary is written by a Jew, Steve Wasserman, and an adulatory article on her, also appearing in today's LA Times, is also by a Jewish close personal friend, Tim Rutten, the LA Times movie critic.... Rutten does not identify Sontag as an ethnic Jew, nor does he (or Wasserman) discuss the fact that her entire life was in a Jewish intellectual milieu and that her attitudes were those typical of a certain element of the Jewish left. In other words, it's a lot easier becoming a famous critic if you are able to integrate yourself into the New York Jewish intellectual scene, and probably impossible if you don't."

National Vanguard writer Hugh Lincoln notes the code words that tell the tale if you're privy to their double meanings:

"Like the Los Angeles Times, New York Times obits very rarely identify their subjects as Jews. They are always 'born to Russian immigrants,' or 'active in the civil rights movement' or 'unconventional intellectuals,' et cetera."

Sontag doesn't quite come out and say it, but she forces her readers to ask the question -- what is one to do with a race of genocidal murderers? What is one to do with a life form "which now threatens the very existence of life itself"? Presumably, the same thing that one would do with cancer, since our race, according to Sontag, is the "cancer of history." Sontag herself fought real cancer for decades, so, even though her prose is about as clear as the water in Long Island Sound, the metaphor itself has an unmistakable meaning. Cancer is to be cut out, irradiated, poisoned, killed. That's what Sontag herself did to her cancer -- in a battle she finally lost.

Her cancer analogy is particularly inapt. The White race has been a conquering race, to be sure, but no more so than others on this planet, where every race wants to survive and grow and must therefore stake its claim to living space and resources -- and always there are others who want those resources, too; so conflict and competition are inevitable. When White people have warred and conquered (often tragically, and often against our own kind, I must add), it has been an open and acknowledged conflict. Cancer doesn't work like that. Cancer doesn't stand with sword in hand and declare war on you. Cancer works secretly, and from within. Often its depredations are far advanced by the time you notice them. Cancer cells look almost like the normal cells of our own body. But they are different. They are like parasites, feeding off the body but growing at its expense while giving nothing of value in return. If they grow too numerous, the body will die. Indeed, there is an ethnic group to which the cancer analogy might apply -- but it isn't European man.

I don't think that the anti-White maunderings of Susan Sontag will stand the test of time. As vicious as they are, they're so pretentious and badly-put that they'll be largely forgotten in a quarter century or less, no matter who wins the culture wars. Jewish supremacist "intellectualism" doesn't triumph on the basis of the superiority of its ideas or its style. When it triumphs, it's because of ethnic solidarity, ingroup-promotion, the near-infinite gullibility of its victims -- and its sheer volume. So Sontag's will be a falling star, even in these very Jewish times, because she's utterly replaceable. There'll be many more skilled self-promoters on the literary circuit, hundreds more pseudo-intellectual feminists, and ever more strident anti-White agitators. (Another Jewish fraud, Harvard's Noel Ignatiev, who says he wants to "abolish" the White race, comes to mind on that score.) When Sontag's life is remembered, I believe it will be as a flagrant example of Jewish self-promotion, and Jewish hostility to White people and White civilization. In short, I believe she'll be remembered for the "cancer" remark and little else.

No matter how they intellectualize it -- no matter whether they profess neoconservative multiracialism or one-world leftist multiracialism -- no matter whether they are even conscious of it or not -- the record shows us that Jews, like Susan Sontag, or Ed Koch or David Horowitz, have a tropism, an instinctive inclination to form an ethnic community that works to break up the community of others. That is simply how they live. Susan Sontag, despite having the very worst of intentions, helped us to understand that.
