American Dissident Voices for November 29, 2008 The Latest Survey of Ignorance By Erich Gliebe Hello, and welcome back this week's edition of American Dissident Voices, the Internet radio program of North America's foremost racialist organization, the National Alliance. I'm your host and the Chairman of the Alliance, Erich Gliebe. Last week, the Intercollegiate Studies Institute released their third survey in three years showing that Americans are civically illiterate and historically ignorant. The random sample of 2,508 Americans, ranging from people without high school diplomas to those with advanced degrees, showed only a minimal difference between the under-schooled and the well-schooled. Even Harvard seniors embarrassed themselves, scoring only 69.56 on the test, a D+. According to the report, the average score of those who ended their schooling with a bachelor's degree is 57 percent, or an "F." This is only 13 points higher than those whose schooling ended with a high school diploma. Considering the results, you might think the test must be really hard! Well, think again. First of all the test is multiple choice. Even some vague recognition should have helped most test-takers, but apparently it didn't. Looking at the results, we find that Americans do not know that Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, or that the inalienable rights listed there are life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Americans do not know that the first ten amendments to the Constitution are called the Bill of Rights. Americans do not know that Woodrow Wilson was president during World War I, or that Franklin Roosevelt was president during the Great Depression. They do not know that Roosevelt's 1933 series of government programs is called The New Deal. To top it off, Americans -- even on a multiple choice test -- do not know that the three branches of U.S. government are the executive, judicial, and legislative branches. Only 21 percent of Americans recognized a famous phrase by Abraham Lincoln as coming from the Gettysburg Address, and only 24 percent knew that the First Amendment prohibits the establishment of an official religion. Oh, but fifty-six percent knew that Paula Abdul is one of three judges on the American Idol television show! Now here is the final kicker: "Elected officials score lower than the general public." So what conclusions can we draw from this survey? I think we can conclude the following: The years that people spend in school don't have much effect on people's overall civic literacy or historical knowledge. For decades, tax dollars spent on schools have increased as test scores have gone down. Still, schools somehow successfully plead for more money to fix the problem. Other nations spend a fraction of what we spend on schooling and outscore us at every turn on international tests. As a result, other countries are more nationalistic, more skilled, and more determined to succeed in the world than we are. And the effects of this are showing. Unfortunately for us, as that largely forgotten fellow Thomas Jefferson once wrote, "If a nation expects to be ignorant and free . . . it expects what never was and never will be." Today, Americans seem to think that the government will run things without their informed input. If that is what Americans want, then they don't want a democracy. They simply want to vote every few years for those who will tell them what is what. As long as Americans have jobs and free choice of which cable television channels to order, then Americans are complacent and satisfied. History has shown, however, that complacency and an over-emphasis on material pleasures lead to social and political deterioration -- and eventually to destruction. Scores on the ISI survey indicate that Americans have been, and still are, in the complacent, materialistic mode that is sweeping our country to social and economic destruction. Americans just don't know much about the history of our nation and the race that built it. Unfortunately, if people don't know where our nation and people have been, they can't understand where we are. If they don't understand where we are, then they can't know where we are going or where we should go. Since both the ignorant and informed choose to vote, on what basis do they vote? Let's look at our recently held national election. A survey of Obama voters showed that most could not identify Obama's friend William Ayers, an unapologetic Sixties radical who founded the Weather Underground and carried out bombings of government facilities. Of course, the Jewish-dominated media reported very little about Ayers. Nor could Obama voters answer the same kinds of questions that the ISI asked of the American people. So why did they vote for Obama? Because they wanted change. Of course they wanted change! That is what the Jewish controlled news and entertainment media told them they should want. We have never had an unbiased news media, but in the past the media at least occasionally tried to appear unbiased. In the last election, the media was unapologetically in the tank for Obama. Everyone admits this, even commentators from the Left who could be counted on to defend the media. All right, but were McCain voters any better informed than Obama voters? We don't know because nobody surveyed them. I would guess, however, that if the ISI survey is accurate, both sides voted out of relative ignorance. Therefore, American's lack of civic literacy and historical knowledge makes them pawns of whoever can produce the slickest campaign and the most attractive candidates. None of this bodes well for America's future. If Americans don't know about civics or history, what do they know about? Even a cursory look at the last fifty years of American schooling and entertainment media suggests that Americans know quite a bit about ephemeral popular culture. What they don't know much about are the eternal truths upon which our nation and culture is based. But why did schools stop teaching this foundation? The answer to this question is too complex for an adequate answer here. But I'll give you a few fundamental reasons. First of all, White guilt and a growing non-White population have goaded and indoctrinated teachers into dispensing with Western Culture, which was created by so-called "dead, White males." According to the schools and our media, those damned White males were nothing more than imperialistic, patriarchal bigots who oppressed everyone whose paths they crossed. So to hell with them. This is the Age of Aquarius, and the Mulatto Messiah will lead us all to the Promised Land. Out with elitists like Plato and Aristotle. Out with slave holders like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Out with male chauvinist pigs like Friedrich Nietzsche. Out with Shakespeare, too. Out with all of them. Today we teach the young to be multicultural, which means we must obliterate White Western Culture and elevate all other races and cultures to a status superior to that of history's bigots. Today we teach civics and history from the standpoint of such cultural giants as Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Thurgood Marshall, Susan B. Anthony, and Eleanor Roosevelt. We dwell on the falsehood of the Holocaust story, which claims that White German culture destroyed six million Jews during World War II, which is why America must now financially and economically support Jews and the State of Israel. Yes, White American students must now pay for the sins of their fathers by handing America over to Blacks, Jews, and mestizos. The schools encourage White Americans to bow their heads in shame and fit in with the "new majority" by proclaiming other cultures superior to their own. Let me state one thing at this point as strongly as I can. White Western Culture has nothing to be ashamed of. White Western Culture has done more to elevate humankind, including non-Whites, than any other culture in world history. Still, we sit by and let the schools and news media make us all ignorant of our great heritage. Young White people cannot be expected to stand up and support their own great cultural heritage if they know nothing positive about it. That is, of course, what the destroyers of our school system have wanted and still work for. The enemies of White Western Culture and the enemies of our race are winning the culture war largely because they have taken control of our schools from kindergarten to the university. The enemy is strong, vital, and determined to win. White people in Western Culture have not been vigilant. They are now complacent and steeped in materialism. They have not been inspired to fight for the best that human beings have ever produced. Today, most White Americans are too ignorant to know what they should be fighting for. The real war is a spiritual war. So what can White Americans do to reverse this tide? First of all, numbers matter, and the Jews, non-Whites, homosexuals, egalitarians, etc. have many organizations supporting them. If you want to fight on the side of White Western Culture and if you want to stand for the values that made Europe and America great, then join and work for the goals of the National Alliance. Nothing you can do on the present scene can be of greater benefit. If you are already an Alliance member, get involved with your local schools and educate the ignorant parents who are sacrificing their children on the altars of multiculturalism and White guilt. Examine the textbooks being used, and question the teachers who teach your children. Homeschooling is also an option. Don't back down when opponents call you a bigot. Know enough about the culture you defend to be an effective advocate for the values you hold. Don't be one of the people who would flunk the ISI survey. This is a war that we must win. If we lose, the results will be catastrophic to our race, to our culture, and ultimately to the world.
