American Dissident Voices for July 4, 2009 The Induced Generation Gap By Erich Gliebe Hello, and welcome back to another edition of American Dissident Voices, the Internet radio program of North America’s foremost racialist organization, the National Alliance. I’m your host and the Chairman of the Alliance, Erich Gliebe It has become a cliché for older generations to criticize the direction of younger generations. But is it always just a cliché, and can generational changes always be written off as harmless reactions to the status quo which are quickly forgotten when the young eventually take on adult responsibilities? Associated Press writer Hope Yen examined a recent and relevant study by The Pew Research Center about the current generation gap. In her article, titled “Study Finds Widening Generation Gap in US,” Yen addresses the following findings: “From cell phones and texting to religion and manners, younger and older Americans see the world differently, creating the largest generation gap since the tumultuous years of the 1960s and the culture clashes over Vietnam, civil rights, and women’s liberation.” In fact, almost 8 out of 10 people believe there are major differences between the generations today. That is the highest spread since 1969. So let’s compare and contrast the generations of the Sixties with those of today in order to throw some light on the generation gap issue. First let’s look at politics. Young people aged 18 to 29 voted for Democrat Barack Obama by a 2-1 margin. With the Vietnam War a hot issue in 1968, young people supported Richard Nixon for president over Hubert Humphrey. Humphrey, as Vice-president under Lyndon Johnson, was not trusted by the young due to their strong dislike for Johnson, whom they blamed for intensifying the Vietnam War. Of course, President Nixon quickly became as unpopular as Johnson because of his further escalation of the Vietnam War and his refusal to pull out troops short of an American victory. Campus riots were commonplace in those years as young people became flower children by wearing hippie garb and indulging in psychedelic drugs. Older folks howled that if the young did not reform, the end was near. Nixon largely nullified the young people’s anger when he abandoned the national draft and implemented a lottery system. This led many, including Nixon, to conclude that young people were cowardly and self-absorbed rather than righteously angry and ethically motivated. A measurable diminishing of youth anger proved Nixon at least partially right. Today, youthful anger over the Iraq and Afghanistan wars is not nearly as hot as that expressed over the Vietnam War in the Sixties. Still, since World War Two, American young people have generally opposed wars in which they have been called to fight, and that is one reason, even without a national draft, they overwhelmingly backed Obama over McCain. They viewed McCain as an old soldier, a relic that wanted the Iraq War to last for 100 years. But despite their negative view of McCain, they backed Obama for many social reasons as well. According to the Pew foundation, people aged 18 to 29 report disagreements over lifestyle, family issues, relationships, and dating. On the other hand, the older generation sees the major difference as young people’s sense of entitlement. In other words, older people criticize young people’s expectation that they somehow deserve what older people had to work for. This sense of entitlement began growing in the post-World War II years when adults who had weathered the Depression and the war gave their children an unprecedented amount of material things. The young are still “addicted” to material things today, much of which they somehow feel they are owed. People of middle age view the generation gap largely as one of manners, opining that the young today engage regularly in obscene speech and show a marked disrespect for their elders. This perception is largely in sync with reality. Since the mid- to late Sixties, young people have demanded more freedom within the family than ever before. Well, earlier generations of youth may have demanded more freedom, but their parents were not so weak and indecisive as to give it to them! Illegal drug use among the young rose in the Sixties and is even higher today. Out of wedlock births recently rose to an all-time high, the largest percentage being reported by mestizos and Blacks. All of this took root in the Sixties and continues to grow today. Perhaps the greatest reason young people voted for Obama was the sense that he shared their social and ethical values. For example, he promised change (particularly progressive economic change), and young people have always loved change. Second, although he said he believed marriage to be between a man and a woman, few really believed that he would veto a bill legalizing gay marriage. John McCain, on the other hand, said he would veto such a bill and probably would have. The Sixties Generation was motivated strongly by a desire for racial and sexual equality. Today, the older generation, such as those in Congress and on the courts, still sees inequality as a major problem. On the other hand, young people (especially young White people) are not nearly as active in civil rights organizations and feminist groups as their counterparts in the Sixties. They seem to understand that no real social or economic barriers are today blocking the success of non-Whites and women. The civil rights legislation of the Sixties took care of that. Still, non-White minorities claim they are entitled to more than equal rights; they are also entitled to equal outcomes. This is probably one reason the older generation criticize the young’s sense of entitlement. Another major difference between the young and the old involves religion. Two-thirds of adults 65 and over said that religion is very important to them compared with just over half of those 30 to 49 and forty-four percent of those 18 to 29. Most of the generation gap phenomenon can be traced to the schools and the entertainment media. People who passed through the public schools in the Sixties and beyond went on to “higher education” and eventually became “tenured radicals.” They in turn taught progressive, relativistic values to successive generations of citizens and teachers. These people then went on to reinforce progressive ideas in their children and students. Tolerance was first enforced, followed later by the requirement that we celebrate differences. Today, the only people falling outside the umbrella of tolerance are White people, particularly White heterosexual males. Our colleges and universities have for decades done much to undermine White males. The news and entertainment media did the rest. Headed by Jews who promote a weakening of America’s cultural values, the news media joined the schools in pointing out all of America’s perceived flaws, many of which were attributed to the practice of traditional American values redefined by progressives as White supremacy, intolerance, misogyny, and homophobia. At the same time, television and movies showed the races as working and living together in cheerful harmony, and showing that homosexuals are just like everybody else -- all just good progressive Americans. And you need not look any further to discover what caused the young's increased use of obscene language and lack of manners sited earlier. The cause was and is the controlled media. So, there is indeed a generation gap today. If this proves nothing else, it proves that Dr. Pierce was right in arguing that political conservatism is doomed to failure in a democracy. As he pointed out, when progressives take power they move things slightly in their direction. When conservatives retake power they have to hold the line established by progressives so that things don’t change to their detriment. Then, when progressives retake power, they move things slightly more in their direction. In other words, progressives, by their nature, are change agents on the offensive, and conservatives, by their nature, are defenders of cultural beliefs and values that are constantly being eroded by the opposition, by people who see the world in a different way. Nobody ever won a war by constantly playing defense, and conservatives are doomed to lose the culture war if it continues to be fought within a democratic system. In the case of President Obama, so revered by the media, the educational establishment, and the young, we have the apex of progressive change. The seeds of America's cultural destruction were planted by Jews when they began buying into and eventually monopolizing the opinion-forming media at the beginning of the 20th Century. The seeds were watered by both Republicans and Democrats who voted in affirmative action with the Sixties' civil rights laws, thereby guaranteeing discrimination against Whites. The seeds were carefully tended by the counter-culture of the Sixties, which also planted more seeds. Now we come to the Mulatto Messiah, the most radical of all progressive presidents. Under Obama, progressives have laid the last covering of manure in preparation for the great harvest expected in 2012 or shortly after. Obama and his handlers began their assault on America by refinancing certain overseas abortion services. He then took over American auto companies and banks while sending America into greater debt than ever before dreamed of. A bogus "energy" bill is now headed for the Senate, which, if passed, will punish American industries that rely on the use of energy for their profits. And which industries don't rely on energy! Thus, in due time, Obama and his handlers will control American industry in general by placing intolerable restraints on it. This bill will also increase unemployment in America. After the energy bill, Obama says he and his Democrat Congress will tackle the nation's health care problem by insuring all citizens. How? With tax payers' dollars! He says his government plan will be optional. Yes, it probably will be, except that enough Americans will join it to destroy independent insurance companies. Then, unless you are quite wealthy, your only option will be the government plan. Oh, by the way, the President and Congress will be exempt from the government plan. But you probably could have guessed that. When the dust finally clears, Obama will control health care. He and his bureaucrats will determine which doctors you can see and when, if ever, you can see them. We will have a health care system like Canada's and England's, both of which are disasters. Obama will have succeeded in creating an America that will not be a worker's paradise. Finally, Obama says he will sign into law some kind of immigration reform bill. It will be an amnesty bill. At the time that Americans are crying for jobs, Obama will give citizenship to the illegals already here, promise to close the southern border, and then do nothing. The last thing to destroy will then be the White race, the destruction of which is already well under way. Now, all of this apparently represents the world of the future envisioned by our young people. So, does the generation gap matter? Yes, it emphatically does! Our young generations have been transformed right under our noses by forces we have acknowledged but failed to fight. The values and beliefs that made America great are dying and the America envisioned by the old is dying with them. When the parents of a new generation fail to teach their children the value of the culture in which they live, the young will seek elsewhere for values. There are always those out there willing to fill that vacuum for their own purposes. Older generations of Americans have allowed this sorry decline to happen, and now the harvest nears. It won't be pretty. Therefore, it is our duty -- to our children and our children’s children -- to fight for a brighter world. And a good place to start is with the program of the National Alliance.
